Singapore AI Startup Mindverse Secures US$5 Million Seed Funding

Published 7 months ago

Singapore-based artificial intelligence (AI) company, Mindverse, has acquired US$5 million in seed funding. This round was led by venture capital firm Square Peg. The startup, established in 2022 by ex-Meta executives and AI researchers, plans to use this financial backing to enhance its research and product development, particularly in its large personalisation model.

Mindverse’s Innovative Products

Mindverse is known for its flagship products, MindOS Studio and Mebot. MindOS Studio assists in creating AI-native websites, providing personalised chat experiences and interfaces. Mebot, on the other hand, is a productivity tool designed to learn and remember a user’s thoughts and preferences.

Dr Felix Tao, Mindverse’s founder and CEO, expressed his observation that people often email themselves to remember something or save an interesting article they find online. However, these email threads can be difficult to organise and easy to lose track of. Tao believes AI can help organise, recall, and recreate one’s memories more efficiently while learning about a user’s thinking patterns and preferences to provide more personalised services.

The “Generational AI Shift”

Square Peg partner Tushar Roy shared his thoughts on the recent funding round. According to him, we are currently in the midst of a “generational AI shift”. This shift is moving from generalized language models to personalised experiences. He added that it is uncommon to find a team like Mindverse’s that is tackling this shift. The seed funding, therefore, is likely to accelerate Mindverse’s plans and enable it to contribute significantly to this AI transformation.
