Published 9 months ago

Deutsche Telekom’s generative AI solution, Business GPT, has been adopted by energy park developer UKA Group. The solution is securely hosted in European cloud environments, aligning with GDPR and German data protection law. This allows businesses to maintain control over their data while benefiting from the efficiency and productivity enhancements that AI can offer.

UKA Group: The First Customer for Business GPT

UKA Group, a leading project developer for renewable energies, is the first to utilise Business GPT. The solution provides a secure and data protection-compliant tool for generative AI, with options for integrating internal company documents. Tested for IT security and data protection, it is hosted on Deutsche Telekom’s cloud environments.

The application allows UKA to retain control of its data and ensures secure entry and use of company data on all end devices by UKA employees. With this solution, UKA can test innovative use cases within its specialist departments and connect company applications directly via programming interfaces.

Streamlining Business Operations with Generative AI

Generative AI tools like Business GPT can minimize repetitive tasks and expedite workflows, leading to improved efficiency and opening up new avenues for innovation. This is particularly beneficial for UKA, as the multilingual tool aids in efficient research, information procurement, and content creation.

Data Sovereignty and Security

Deutsche Telekom’s solution ensures data sovereignty remains with the customer. It allows companies to use GPT 3.5 and GPT 4.0 models from Microsoft Azure OpenAI Services in a protected area via cloud environments in Europe. Initially developed for Deutsche Telekom employees, the product was later added to Telekom MMS’s portfolio following successful internal implementation and thorough security and data protection measures.

Pioneering AI Innovation

“Business GPT makes us absolute pioneers. With this tool, we enable our employees worldwide to test use cases for AI language models in a secure environment and use them profitably. That’s what I call real innovation!” said Christian Schmidt, Head of IT and Digital at UKA. Klaus Werner, Managing Director for Business Customers at Telekom Deutschland GmbH, reiterated the company’s commitment to customer expectations of compliance and security, stating that “Business GPT combines Telekom’s reliability with the latest in natural language processing and all the innovation that comes with it.”
